I’ve spent a fair amount of time in this area of Florida and am sad to say I only recently discovered Kelly Park Rock Springs!
The best part is that when I went it was the winter in Florida, and only a crazy Canadian like myself was brave enough to get in the water…so I literally had the place to myself.
The water is crystal clear at Kelly Park Rock Springs, you have to see it for yourself. The river operates like a natural lazy river, with a gentle flow taking you through the forest as you keep cool in the refreshing water…with the occasional fish swimming past you. It doesn’t take long to get from one end to the other, but you can easily follow the path back and start over – or swim upstream to do it over again.
Make sure you bring your own floaty, they do sell them there but I’m sure they’re expensive…and it’s worth mentioning that the shop at Kelly Park Rock Springs wasn’t open when I was there, so you’d want to check the hours before going if you’re planning on buying anything there.
I’m definitely going to go back to Kelly Park Rock Springs next time I’m in the area! Do you know anywhere else in and around this part of Florida that’s worth exploring? I love exploring new places and would love to hear your suggestions in the comments!
