5 Things You’ve Never Heard of in Niagara Falls

Niagara Falls is one of the top tourist destinations in Ontario, there’s an entire website devoted to tourism, here.

If you’re like me, though, you’re sick of doing the same old things and maybe you’re ready to experience Niagara Falls in a totally different way!

5 Unique Experiences in Niagara Falls

1. Yoga at the Base of Niagara Falls

This is a new activity being offered and I tried it for the first time this past summer. I can’t tell you how much fun it was! One of the things I struggle with when visiting Niagara Falls is being able to turn off all the noise (read: tourists, shops, smells, taxi horns, etc). It makes it hard to appreciate the natural beauty of the waterfall. If you are looking for a way to stop and take a moment that feels like just you and Niagara Falls, give this yoga class a try!

2. See a Jackson Triggs Concert Series Show

The Jackson Triggs Concert Series offers some pretty amazing bands and performers at the vineyard throughout the summer. I saw Sam Roberts Band last summer and it was one of my favourite concerts…the venue is absolutely amazing, plus it’s small and intimate. You never know who you might “bump” into…

3. Explore the Niagara Glen

My Adventure Passport Exploring the Niagara Glen, Ontario, Canada

The Niagara Glen is a bit of a hidden gem in the Niagara Falls area, I think. It’s way less crowded and the trail system is really beautiful. The forest is especially lovely in the fall, with the colours and crunching leaves, but the trail is nice year round.

4. View the Falls from a Different Angle

I often laugh at everyone huddled up in front of the falls, waiting and pushing around trying to get the perfect photo. What I think many people don’t realize is that if you walk up a little farther you can get a totally different view of the falls, that’s pretty stunning in a completely different way! There are also viewing towers and other areas in town with views of the falls you can check out.

5. Get a Spa Treatment:

There are numerous spas in the Niagara area, but my favourite is the Pillar & Post. You can spend the day, a night or a weekend at this gorgeous spa relaxing and enjoying delicious meals and, of course, spa treatments.
