7 Hidden Gems Near Orlando

There are actually plenty of amazing things to do near Orlando that don’t involve visiting Disney World! I’ve stumbled across some pretty epic places over the years so you’re not going to want to miss scrolling through this list of hidden gems near Orlando before your next trip to Florida!

  1. Canaveral National Seashore:

This beauty is only about 50 minutes from Orlando and is well worth the drive! There are amazing beaches and hiking trails and boardwalks to explore and you can easily spend a whole day there so bring a cooler with a picnic lunch and some drinks and enjoy the day!

2. Daytona Flea Market:

The Daytona Flea & Farmers Market is only about 45 minutes from Orlando. Just make sure it’s open before you head over but otherwise be prepared to spend some cash! There are endless booths with a huge variety of items ranging from flavoured honey to belt buckles and t-shirts.

3. New Smyrna Beach:

New Smryna Beach is an hour from Orlando but it’s well worth the drive. It’s one of the few beaches you can still drive on so you can bring all kinds of gear to set up comfortably for the day!

4. Bulow Creek State Park

Bulow Creek State Park has a number of interesting attractions including the Fairchild Oak Tree and the promise of wildlife sightings. There are a few different access points and trail systems, but they’re all pretty awesome!

5. Kelly Park Rock Springs:

This is one of my favourite places in Florida! It’s like the most amazing adult lazy river…just watch out for gators!

6. Central Florida Zoo:

The Central Florida Zoo is an amazing facility that you’ll easily spend an afternoon exploring!

7. Kayak Rental From JB’s Fish Camp:

The best part about renting a kayak from JBs fish camp isn’t the potential dolphin or manatee sighting…it’s getting to eat lunch or dinner there afterwards!

  1. Next time you are in Orlando, then I suggest checking out the Daytona International Speedway. Even if you are a casual auto racing fan, you’ll still appreciate learning about the history of Daytona’s development of as both the “Mecca of NASCAR” and a popular seaside resort in the mid-20th Century.
